Call this one a mish-mash and file it under “general”, but here are a few tips for caring for and driving your new or used Ford car.
Snow and Inclement Weather:
- To remove snow from your vehicle, use a broom. It is quick and easy, and you can cut the handle down so it will fit in your trunk.
- If you don’t keep a compact shovel in your trunk, a hubcap can be used in a pinch to dig out from snow, mud, or sand.
- Keep a bag of cat litter in your trunk. If you get stuck in the snow, you can sprinkle some under your tire for better traction.
Performing Maintenance on your
used Ford car:
- Keep some wet naps in your glove box. After filling up your car they are great for removing the gas smell from your hands.
- Use baking soda and water to remove any grease that may have gotten on your hands after working on your car.
- Use a foam tipped paint brush and some water to clean hard to reach places on your dashboard or interior
- If you have noticed an oil leak and can’t make it to the garage right away, take a cookie sheet and cover it with cardboard or kitty litter. Place it under the leak and change when necessary.
Putting Your New Ford Car Away:
- When parking in your garage, especially if you have new drivers in your household, consider placing a strip of luminous tape vertically down the center of your garage wall. This will help drivers to determine the center of the garage when parking the car.
- Consider putting luminous tape on any objects that stick out in your garage. That way people will be less likely to hit them as they are pulling in or out.
